As I was writing today's comic, it occured to me "Jesus Christ, most of my readers are probably too young to even know about The Graduate!" This saddened me a little bit, because it is one of the funniest movies ever. If you haven't seen it, you really should. Not only is it a good movie but it will actually enable you to get the jokes in today's comic!
Also, c'mon- you
knew I'd be going somewhere with Marten's "I'll go get you some lotion" comment in Monday's strip. So predictable! Argh!
Strips like this are always risky to do, but sometimes you've just got to follow the idea wherever it ends up going. All in all I am pretty happy with this one.
Exciting news! Apparently Questionable Content has been nominated for a couple Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards, specifically Outstanding Newcomer, Outstanding Reality Comic (heh...right...) and Outstanding Romantic Comic! I don't really expect to win anything, but it sure is neat to be included among some of my favorite strips in the nomination slots. Thanks to everyone (whomever you are) for helping get QC nominated. Also thanks to the hojillion people who emailed me with congratulations- I really appreciate it dudes and ladies!

Pitchfork gave the new Wilco album a pretty crappy score. I was expecting it, honestly, I think I predicted a 7.7 at the highest so even I was being a little optimistic. This is one of those instances where they are very plainly mistaken. Go out and buy
A Ghost Is Born, it is a very good record to listen to with your ears. The one thing the review
did get right is that "Company in my Back" is the best song on the album. So catchy!
