I get a little nervous when I do strips like this one. As the author, something I might decide to do on a whim could affect the entire outcome of the comic. I don't want to make a stupid decision that sends the plot into a dead end, and I don't want to make things super-obvious or give everything away too soon.
So, it was not without deliberation that I decided to draw this particular strip. It does take the plot in a direction that I wanted to explore, however, and the possibilities for future humor are nearly endless. Before you try to guess where I'm going with this, let me promise you that QC is not going to devolve into some lame anime ripoff where Marten gets a gushing nosebleed each time he "accidentally" sees Faye in her panties. I'll leave the manga homage to
Piro, who does it far better than I ever could anyway.
I have two surprises for you this week. I can't say what they are just yet, but I CAN guarantee that you will see at least one of them by Wednesday. The other one is coming all the way from BRITAIN and I am quivering with anticipation.
