God damn did this strip take a long time to draw. The basic art alone took me 2 hours to get right, with another hour of Photoshop tweaking after that to finish everything else.
Still, I'm proud of how it turned out. Guitars are really tough to draw well, and I think I did a decent job (you can at least tell what they are supposed to be). Drawing someone HOLDING a guitar is even harder. Took me a long time to get Marten's pose right but I think I nailed it.
Man, can you believe it used to take me four hours to draw those horrendous first strips, where you can tell I had no idea how to use the drawing tablet yet? I guess I really am improving, at least a little bit.
I got email from a reader today thanking me for introducing them to Broken Social Scene. It completely made my day to hear that. I love introducing people to music that I enjoy, particularly if they enjoy it in return.
So Top Web Comics is basically completely dead from what I hear. After I publish this newspost I'll be taking that damned broken link off the site. Buzzcomix is where it is at, fellas and ladies. Your every vote means that more people find out about QC, which is a good thing indeed.
For those of you who ordered t-shirts, I have some good news. I finally had the time to complete the artwork (yeah I know, all the writing was just SO difficult) and I will be sending stuff to the printer tomorrow. I will post here as soon as I have an ETA on when the shirts will be ready. I apologize for the massive delay, a wide variety of distractions and other committments led to me putting it off for quite a while. When I eventually print other shirts the turnaround will be MUCH faster, I cross my heart and hope for pie. Thanks to you all it looks like I will break even on the deal, which is an excellent thing considering how young of an enterprise this is. Thank you again!
