This one took a while. Drawing hardhats and respirators is surprisingly fun.
Lem did what I think is the best
Frank Miller parody to ever hit the internet.
Someone emailed me recently complaining that the "soul" had somehow gone out of my comic, that I was simply going through the motions. I don't respond to cranky email as a rule, I have better things to do with my time, but this accusation struck me as being particularly ludicrous.
Questionable Content isn't just my job. It's the single most fulfilling thing I've ever done in my life. If you think it sucks, or the artwork is bad, or whatever, that's okay. Everyone's taste is different- I suggest checking out other
DayFree Press comics instead, or poking around on my links page until you find something more to your liking. But if you suggest that I'm somehow resting on my (nonexistant) laurels, or phoning it in, or in any way shape or form being
insincere in my efforts to do this comic to the best of my ability, then I can say with utmost confidence that you are wrong. I wear myself out on each and every strip*. I want to improve so bad sometimes it makes my head hurt. I do QC because it makes me happy, and I like the challenges it provides. Everything else, be it audience or t-shirts or a good Alexa ranking or whatever, is secondary.
So if you like the comic, great! I'm glad you found it and hope you'll stick around. If you don't like the comic, that's okay. Check back in a while, maybe it'll be more to your liking then. But don't think, even for one second, that I'm not pouring my heart and soul into this thing. QC may be my job, but even if it weren't it'd still be my lifeblood.
*: Okay, I don't wear myself out doing the OMG Turkeys every Thanksgiving.
