"Hee hee hee", I giggled to myself as I drew panel 3 of today's strip. I think we've all had at least one of those "OMG do I kiss him/her is he/she about to kiss me what the HELL is going on" moments. Poor Marten has had more than his fair share already. Will they ever let up? Time will tell.
If you find yourself in a situation like this, the safest thing to do is to smooch the other person and then run far away very quickly. Notice I did not say it was the best thing to do.
I'm trying something new with the speech bubbles in today's strip. Basically the rounded rectangles take up a lot less space than the ellipses I normally use, because they can be more easily fit to the dialogue. Hopefully you like how they look, because they make laying out each comic much easier for me. If you absolutely cannot stand them, give it a couple more strips and then see if you have gotten used to it. If at that point you STILL don't like them, feel free to let me know. Lord knows I am capricious, I may change them to something different anyway if the fancy strikes me.
Thanks to everybody who wished me victory in my battle against the common cold. I seem to be winning at the moment, possibly due to your spooky karmic energies. Or possibly it is just the Aleve Cold & Sinus making my head all funny.
QC is still hangin' tough in the top 10 on Buzzcomix. I am sort of feeling like maybe I shouldn't bother with it, though- I find myself getting kind of tired of all the banners with cleavage in them and terrible comics whoring themselves out for more votes. I would be very interested in hearing what you think, so I have started a poll in the forums to help gauge what my readers' opinions are on this matter. Go check it out if you like, I would love to know your feelings on this.
Remember, you have until next Friday (March 12) to order Anti-Emo and/or Pintsize t-shirts if you want to make the first print run. It's probably going to be a while after that before I build up enough orders to afford 2nd printings, so take advantage of it while you can. If you want a shirt, that is. If you do not want a shirt then disregard everything that you have just read in this paragraph, and think about how cute baby ducks are instead.
