For those of you who have not read up on your Vonnegut (and shame on you!), Salo was one of the main characters in his first novel,
The Sirens of Titan. He was an alien robot who could inflate and deflate his feet for various purposes, just like Pintsize is doing in today's strip.
Sirens is my personal favorite of Vonnegut's books, so you might want to check it out. It's an entertaining read.
Man did this strip take a long time to get done. There was a lot of going back and fixing mistakes and changing dialogue. It also took me a lot longer than usual to come up with the strip idea. I blame stress, but fortunately my life should be getting a little less hectic in the coming days. Hopefully Friday's strip will come about a little easier. I am still not completely happy with the color of the sound effects, but sometimes you just have to force yourself to declare something DONE so you can move on. At least the art doesn't look like ass (I think).
Man, a lot of you have signed up for the mailing list! I am happy to have you aboard. If you tried signing up but never got a confirmation email (or the site didn't seem to work), please keep trying- sometimes their servers are just hell of slow and you have to try a few times.
One heads-up that you might be interested in: I will most likely be attending
ConnectiCon (super-fun comic book/manga/webcomics/anime convention) at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT this July 16-18. My plan is to have a table somewhere for selling merch and doing sketches and just plain ol' hanging out with people. Brian Carroll from
Instant Classic will be there as well, so if you live in the New England vicinity and want to meet a couple of very nice comic-drawing fellows this would be a good opportunity! I will post more specific information about the con and what I will be doing there once I get the details worked out.
I would talk more but I am very tired, so I leave you to enjoy today's strip. I apologize for any glaring spelling errors in the comic or in this newspost, my eyes are currently plotting violent rebellion against my brain. See you Friday!
